What is it the Passport?

IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a number unique to every GSM and UMTS mobile phone that usually consists of 15 digits. The first 8 digits (the so-called TAC/Type Allocation Code) include information on the model and origin of the phone. The remainder of the IMEI is a serial number with a Luhn check digit at the end. In Sony Ericsson mobile phones IMEI usually has the following format: XXXXXXXX-XXXXXX-X-XX. The last 2 digits are not part of IMEI.

IMEI can be retrieved by entering *#06#. It can also be found printed on the phone underneath the battery, or on the box. In some phone models this number may have hyphens, e.g., 123456-78-901234-5. If there are 2 additional digits at the end of the number, do not enter them – this is the software version number (SVN).
