Interest in Innovative Devices Highest Among Younger Consumers
Boston, MA - 26 February 2009 - The Strategy Analytics Wireless Device Lab research, "Consumers Attracted to Flexible Displays and Devices," shows that consumers are interested in innovative devices such as a phone with a roll-up display and a flexible phone that can be bent into any shape.
These findings are based on a survey of over 2800 wireless device owners in the US and Western Europe. Consumers, age16 to 34, are most likely to be interested in these creative device concepts. .
"Consumers are attracted to flexible displays and devices not only because they are innovative in design, but also because they provide enhanced functionality," commented Chris Schreiner, Senior User Experience Analyst at Strategy Analytics. "Segments of `Techies' and `Style Seekers' will be the first to adopt these new devices."
Kevin Nolan, Vice President of the Strategy Analytics User Experience Practice, added, "In order for these new innovative devices to maximize their appeal to consumers, they should be assessed against the Strategy Analytics PURE-CUT model to ensure their usability and usefulness."
