Mass production of 4G-phones will not begin before 2012

Despite the increasing development of networks of LTE (long term evolution), also known as 4G, the next two years, users will have difficulty in choosing a mobile phone due to inadequate supply of devices on the market. First of all, the lack of 4G-phones will be caused by the fact that chip makers plan to first to mass produce chips for modems and desktop PCs. Another problem in the way of filling the market 4G-phones is the lack of clear agreement between market participants on the use of certain protocols, voice over 4G. 

At the moment there is a possibility of using only the "old fashioned" voice protocols that are used in 2G and 3G, such as IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) and VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), but their application can only be a temporary solution. Does not inspire much of the fact that the major handset manufacturers Nokia, LG, Motorola and HTC are in no hurry to share their plans for the timing of the mass production of 4G-equipment. Only representatives of the Samsung mentioned the issue before the end of this year, the party phones for test use in several regions of the United States.
