  The Ultra Series from Samsung is well known for its elegance and records in slim design. The glory has started to grow with the U600 and U700 models. When U900 Soul appeared, it seemed that the series has received a crown and will remain unchanged for a good time, but it wasn’t so. Samsung U800 Soul b is the living proof of a new born series, under the name of “Soul”, which now has all the three form factors: slide (U900), bar (U800) and clamshell (G400). This new series has kept all the goodies from Ultra series, U800 has only 9.9 mm thickness, but it had added “weight” and style through its metal polished case, which gives it class. So, what Samsung U800 Soul b has to offer? It’s a slim mobile phone with straight, but in the same time, cool design, with a quality display of 16M colors, 3G, 3Mp digital camera with flash, FM with RDS, Bluetooth with A2DP and not the last – 1Gb internal memory!   One of the great things about the original Soul is that despite its heavy-hitting credentials -- 5-megapixel camera, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, and OLED-equipped d-pad, just to name a few -- it remains a pretty understated (read: tasteful) slider. Of course, taste isn't for everyone, which is apparently why Samsung has elected to dress up its high-end U900 in black and gold for a "Limited Edition" that commands about a 700 Czech crown ($40) premium over its easier-to-look-at silver counterpart. To each their own, we suppose. The Limited Edition is already available in some markets, and with the high sheen of that classy gold plating, it should be pretty easy to pick out.

  The MWC show, from the past February this year in Barcelona, became the starting point for Samsung U900 Soul. The model name was chosen in the honor of completion of the exclusive (second) series phones, The Ultra Edition, and the beginning of its third edition. In particular, the “Soul” acronym is formed from the the phrase "The Spirit Of Ultra". That sounds quite elegant, but indeed is corresponding to reality. By its very concept, U900 Soul is not different from what Samsung is cultivating for already over 3 years: a flagship phone in the slide form-factor, the main idea of which is a good and qualitative implementation of the most functions that directly affect the price / quality balance. D500, D600, D900, U600/U700 - all these models had (the last ones still have) a deafening success. The first ones who will go for U900 Soul will be precisely those who agree with the last phrase, but now they want to see in their hands something new - the next stage of development. The Exterior   Certainly, U900 Soul should be taken as a stylish solution. This is facilitated by its design, and cost.   Samsung is preparing a new Symbian-Smartphone, which resembles Samsung U900 Soul in what concerning the appearance. Samsung L870 will receive a similar touchpad, metal case and Symbian OS 9.3, together with the S60v3 Feature Pack 2. The source said that the device will be presented in mid-June. If the Korean company will hurry up with the phone’s market launch, then the L870 can become the first device with the Feature Pack 2 on the market.
