  Japanese cellular operator NTT DOCOMO demonstrated at the ongoing CEATEC exhibition in Japan a prototype of environmentally friendly mobile phone Touch Wood. The docomo SMART series devices will suit people aspired to enhance the management of their live. And the docomo PRO series phones are the most technology advanced ones in this lineup.

  Let’s start with a nice concept born from a research partnership between Fujitsu and Docomo. As can be expected, this concept is a very interesting mobile phone. What’s so special? According to David, their advanced concept will allow you to configure your mobile as you want. Actually, your mobile can be split in two parts (screen and keyboard). The screen features all software (as the video function), while the keyboard communication, radio functions (3G, network…) The keypad is a touchpad that can used horizontally or vertically…Why? You’ll be able to stick (with a magnet) this part on the side of the screen for a Willcom D4 form factor, or stick it at the bottom of the phone for a standard mobile phone. Communication between both parts is done through Bluetooth. Of course both parts can be used separately to listen to music, watch video.... We don’t know when it will be released, but for sure, this device could be great!

  Oh, what's this, NTT DoCoMo? Your eye movement control for phones -- which isn't even commercialized, may we add -- is so 2050 compared to NeuroSky's mind control system. The company has already shown non-mobile applications for its seriously sci-fi tech, but it used CTIA recently as a venue to demonstrate how it can be used to do cool things on phones, too, bringing along a mental relaxation app, a math quiz where your brainpower is actually measured (no pressure), and a simple game. There aren't any shipping products yet, but the company says that it has nine development partners working on integrating its goods, and meanwhile it's slaving away on repackaging the discrete components translating brainwaves into commands into a single chip that's more easily soldiered onto something consumers would actually want to wear and use.  

  DoCoMo, a large telecommunication provider, launched a GPS headed device that will be used for maintaining a higher level of security for the Japanese society. The technical supplier for this device will be secured by Sony Ericsson with the U310 platform.  Its main function is activated when a switcher is triggered by the owner. In the next moment an audible alert will being activated also and a special data signal will be sent to local authorities with the precise location being provided within. This new partnership is proving the high standard and the flexibility of the Sony Ericsson platform once again.
