The police force covering London has launched an SMS service aimed mainly at people that have dull hearing or speech impediments. However, this service is available to all Londoners.
To use the service you should send a message to 07940 500 500 with your name, location and brief details of what is happening. As soon as the police receive the message, you get a confirmation message.
The service is useful beyond all doubt. The disabled should have the same opportunities as healthy people.
