With this aim, KPCB has established a venture fund called iFund. Special attention will be paid to the local service centers developers, social networks, mobile commerce (including mobile payment services and advertising) and entertainment services. "The developers already have a lot of ideas for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Now with the help of the venture funds they have an opportunity to turn their ideas into big companies - said the Apple’s CEO, Steve Jobs. - We look forward to start working with Kleiner Perkins and their financed companies. " 

  From today, the iPhone is available in another two European countries, Austria and Ireland. In Austria, iPhone will be sold through the mobile operator T-Mobile, and in Ireland, the distribution of this product was given to the mobile operator O2.   The President of Motorola’s mobile unit resigns. The press release reported that Stu Reed has decided to leave the company by himself. Sun’s Vice President of Marketing, Eric Klein said that the company investigated the possibility of adding support for Java through the recently introduced SDK and adopted a positive decision. It will be adapted, as mobile version, Java Micro Edition, and perhaps JavaFX. "Now iPhone is opened - said Mr. Klein, - free JVM will be available through Apple AppStore. We will do our best to assure that JVM will provide maximum access for Java applications to iPhone’s functions ". When JVM will be launched for iPhone, is not known yet.
